Old Abby Traffic Data

The following indicates the data the City has collected to date, information collected in 2018 as well as additional information.  This document was prepared by the Director of Transportation for the City of Waterloo.

Data Collection Locations
  • Blue arrows indicates automatic traffic recorder (ATR) data collection point
  • Red arrows indicates turning movement count data collection point (TMC)
  • Green arrows indicates the location of Radar speed sign and direction it was facing
  • The ATR records volumes, speed and classification of vehicles.
  • Average (km/hr) is the average speed of all the vehicles that pass over the device 85th percentile (km/hr) is the speed at which 85% of the vehicles are traveling at or below
  • AADT is the average daily traffic total of vehicles that pass over the road way sector
  • TMC is turning movement count conducted for the 8 highest hours of the day (7:30 am -10:30 am, 11:30 am to 1:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm)

Additional 8 hour counts at Eastgate Walk and Sandringham will be conducted in the fall of 2018 to provide current data for all-way stop warrants.
